Waging Peace...a How To Guide

My friend Gracie recently posed a question, as we sat in a workshop by Peace X Peace (pronounced “peace by peace”) - HOW are we going to "make peace". Well, the first answer that came to my mind is to BE peace - then listen to your heart for ways to walk that peace in your day to day life...here are a few suggestions for How to Wage Peace in a world that seems to have forgotten...

1) BE aware that you are One Human connected to every other Human being - this connection exists despite the illusion of separation created sometimes by religion, nationality, race, region, language and personality. It is when we put this awareness into practice that we find our freedom from FEAR.

2) Wear a funny hat or a special piece of jewelery - build your own "waging peace" uniform. Maybe its a tie die t-shirt, a hemp necklace, a feather boa, or a fun scarf, maybe its just putting on a funny tie with that suit you have to wear. Learn how to show your true colors, your own way. Above all, wear comfortable shoes as walking and dancing require support.

3) Wear a symbol of your decision to be a peacemaker and wear it PROUDLY. Suggestions: a Peace Sign pin, or maybe a Circle, if you want to be a little subtler. Anything with the word LOVE is a good thing to wear around too. If you drive a car, find positive bumper stickers to spread new ideas that may enlighten those who read them.

4) Ask your higher self what one small thing you can do today to help "wage peace". Be prepared for some interesting results as you follow the suggestions you receive.

5) Create a mission for yourself, whether it is an event or a specific goal, such as creating a non-profit organization or writing a book. Pour as much of yourself into it as you can manage for now, knowing that everything you need will come as you become ready to receive it! (allowing!)

6) Seek others of like mind to join you in a circle - and remember, if it isn't relatively effortless and/or incredibly fun - you can still do better! Find a way to gather and learn and celebrate any auspicious occasion. Share ideas, laugh, sing, dance, drum, meditate: learn to co-create.

7) Spend as little time as possible speaking of, protesting, or worrying about that 3 letter W word. Most of all, try to help raise awareness of the powerful vibration of simple words - begin a campaign to remove all signs and slogans that focus on what we do not want. Mention Peace...not its opposite. Work for peace...not against its opposite (which would be creating the very negative vibration we wish to eliminate from our reality...).

8) Learn to receive dream guidance and to notice signs and syncronicities. They will help you find your own unique Purpose. They will make you fearless in knowing your own special Role in this little adventure.

9) Above all, take nothing personally. If some are made uncomfortable by your bold stand, just know that might be what opens their mind enough to consider a new way of being that they never knew was possible.

10) Take absolutely the best possible care of your Self that you are able to at present, and continually seek ways to take even better care of your Self...Mind, Body, AND SPIRIT.

11) What we focus our intent, our attention, our energy on....we create! Help pass on that knowledge...turn off the TV or leave the room if something negative appears, or at least, send out your Love Laser to help bring light to the situation. Start asking people in the media to be aware of this "law of the universe" so we can stop unconsioucly creating more of what we don't want. We should be hearing more GOOD news than BAD, in other words...there is much work to do, but if we start doing it together we will see the positive change we've been longing for.

Evolution From the Tomato Plant Progress Perspective

I just KNOW its true what i've read about the consciousness of the whole planet evolving, I could see it in the stories about all the Olympians and the challenges they've faced and in the recent "post Hurricane Katrina" follow up stories.

I know My life has evolved quite a bit in that time as well, and today I realized a silly little example that closely mirrors how I feel now versus how I felt three years ago. For the last three years we have had a small vegetable garden each summer (last year's was best as we realized the tap water was hurting the roots and we started collecting rain water to water the veggies with).

Today I was transplanting some 11 or 12 tomato starts a friend gave us, and I realized how much more that reflects the "effortless abundance" I've been learning to "co-create" than our Tomato plant progress in previous years. These plants are almost 5" tall already, and while we can't plant them outside for another Month at least, here in Wisconsin, they'll do GREAT in the window until then. Plus there were WORMS in the soil. Gives me some hope that Spring really IS almost here, even though we just got another 4" of snow yesterday...

Last year, on the Spring Equinox we had 10 seedlings just starting to sprout. They were about an inch tall. On the previous Spring Equinox (2004), we thought it was so awesome that we had 3 little seedlings just popping out of the soil.

So, at least as far as our Tomato plant progress goes, we're still two weeks before of the Equinox, and a few weeks ahead on growth...I predict its going to be a great summer! :0) Now if I could just get a couple pepper and cucumber plants and some lettuce we could make a salad by around June sometime.

Creating a Higher Vibration

I was driving to the bank yesterday to get some money, and I almost went out of my way home to get my two dogs, Starski and Hutch. They LOVE going to the bank because at the drive through there is this really nice guy who always gives them dog cookies - they think its the reason we go in the first place!

I decided to save time and gas and just run in to the ATM in the lobby instead this time, and I realized at the intuitive level that these 2 different ways to get the same $100 out of the bank create 2 very different vibrations. At the ATM I interact with a machine, and leave. In that there is no SPARK, no JOY, no BLISS (I did get to wave at the receptionist through the door, she looked pretty bored but she smiled when I waved).

When me and the dogs go through the drive through, and I laugh because Starski is so excited he's standing in my lap with his head out the window making sure he gets SEEN by the cookie man...and the teller laughs because the dog is so silly and we all feel GOOD for a minute...thats what changing the world is all about. A greater quality AND quantity of interactions between all of us living things...

As if by coincidence the same day we got a forward from a friend about "you know you're living in 2006 when" and one of them was "you send email to the person who works at the desk right next to you". I've noticed this in my years using e-mail especially in the corporate environment...we're losing the ability to communicate with each other, feeling so separate that we are reducing our back and forth interactions to black and white letter by letter discourse. Well, the truth is we all have free, 24 hour access to the "InnerNet" if we would just sit still long enough to remember how to use it!

A quick LOVE LASER TO ANYONE WHO HAPPENS TO READ THIS! >8-) .....................?

Manifestation

I've begun playing with the idea of manifesting 'effortless abundance' and having a great time with it. I've been offline for 6 months after my 2nd PC harddrive crashed, but I'm back thanks to receiving a FREE Mac Powerbook G4 in December, and I am so grateful and am loving every minute of it. For 10 years I spent working in corporate america I got so tired of all the time wasted trying to work around MS Windows bugs. I got to the point of being unable to do it anymore, physically and spiritually, after the new year of 2004.

I've been working with the state of wisconsin Department of Vocational Rehabilitation to find a new means to make my living, and given my strong independent and creative nature we decided self employment was the best solution for me. I went to my appointment after having tried to write my whole business plan on a Windows laptop that Justin had for just 3 months before he died (see Justin Said...an earlier post). It crashed so often I gave up and wrote a list by hand of what I wanted for my business.

TOP on the list was a Mac laptop...right before my meeting, I sat down at a computer in the Job Center and looked up www.apple.com and picked out just the one I'd want! In the meeting, I told her about the dreams I received about the "Love Laser" and sent one across her desk and she FELT it. I told her how much my PC laptop had crashed, and how frustrating I found them compared to the ease of use of the Macs I had used since 1986 at the University of Michigan. She said I'd need a working computer to complete the business plan analysis. She asked me what I wanted, and I told her the PowerBook G4 looked perfect. So she pulled up the apple store on her computer and we prepared the order together that very moment. I am still pinching myself! It arrived right before Christmas and I LOVE IT! So this is what productivity feels like!

ANOTHER cool manifestation, since I haven't really been making money for the last 2 years, is that I got a phone call from a survey research company who asked if I'd come to the local Sheraton to do a music survey for local radio stations. It was last night, and I got paid a $50 bill just for listening to short clips of songs and filling out a scantron sheet whether I Liked it a Lot, Liked it Some, Did not Like it, Was tired of it or Not familiar... For someone who loves music as much as I do I can't think of a cooler way to earn a few bucks.

Not judging but simply observing I share this little experience from the survey conference room. I got there early and was working on my Mac and a young woman sat down at the other end of the table. She started writing furiously with her pencil, shaking the table so hard I was getting a little seasick and had to put my laptop away.

I didn't mean to invade her privacy, but I glanced over to see what was so URGENT. She had written two pages already, and in my quick glace I saw the word H*te underlined and the sentence "I h*te ____ SO MUCH, will you tell her to please shut up!" I turned back to my Sudoku puzzle book. A few minutes later she started reading a little New Testament bible and making notes in some religious publication, probably for a Bible study.

I wondered if she has any idea how powerful and destructive just writing that H word is, and how a real internal, open hearted understanding of the truth in that Book would help her better understand and LOVE the people she appears to be having a conflict with. Maybe I should have said hello but I just sent her a Love Laser and a wish for her to learn the truth more easily than this journey has been for me.

Web Design by BlissEffect

I'm working on a few freelance web design projects that I have really enjoyed. I'd love to get feedback on both sites, so let me know what you think!

Magnificent Voyage, LLC ---> www.magnificentvoyage.com
I'm almost done with this site which I've developed for Mary Preuss Olson for her company Magnificent Voyage. Mary is a wonderful teacher and spiritual advisor, who is certified to offer healing sessions in Reiki and EMF Balancing Technique and can certify others in these powerful healing arts. I highly recommend her Mediation CDS - the track the Daily Tune Up on the Staying in the Flow disk is so powerful, I believe that listening to it for several weeks straight is what led to my first "kundalini awakening" experience as well as the incredible dreams and synchroncities I've experienced.

Atwood Acupuncture Center, LLC ---> www.atwoodacupuncture.com
I designed this site for Cathy Chase of the Atwood Acupuncture Center. The center, located at 2045 Atwood Avenue in Madison, WI offers acupuncture, massage therapy, Chinese Herbs and a bookstore with gifts, CDs, cards, candles, incense, and more. The "buddha buttons" at the top of the pages are actually images of Buddha sculptures that are available for sale in the shop, and they come in three sizes and a wide variety of colors.

Do you want a website or know someone who does? Just contact Laureen at blisseffect@yahoo.com as I am ready to receive new projects. I am most interested in creating sites for small businesses focussed on spirituality or holistic health. I create sites using timesaving features like Dreamweaver templates, Cascading Style Sheets, and Fireworks for rollovers and popup menus. I can help with planning the site, and after completing the work teach you how to make simple updates for yourself, if you wish. My philosophy of website design is that simplicity is best and the most important concern is that people should be able to access the information they need within two or three clicks.
